Olivie salad is a staple of Russian culinary tradition. No celebration can be imagined without Olivier salad. Originally created by a French chef Lucien Olivier at the end of the 19th century it gradually evolved in what it is now. It is mainly composed of potatoes, carrots, pickles, eggs, green peas all mixed with mayonnaise and its main component can be mortadella (doctorskaya sausage), chicken, beef or even beef tongue. Outside Russia it is commonly known as as a Russian salad. Presented salad was made with chicken breast with additional fresh cucumbers.
